February 2016 President’s Update

As we hurtle towards Orientation Week and the upcoming semester, I wish to welcome every Postgraduate to another year, or new experience at Griffith Gold Coast.

The GCAP Committee has been busy this holiday season lining up a really great semester’s worth of Events, Academic Services, Funding and more which you guys have grown to expect and love!

This is the time to get involved on campus and amongst the postgraduate cohort with some huge things planned…let’s just say our major social event has been booked and finalised, and isn’t one to miss…more info very soon.

First things first though, March 15th, we will be getting straight back into giving you what you love – with our first free luncheon of the year. These will continue fortnightly on varied days and Social Drinks at the Unibar are getting a revamp worth stopping by for once-a-month on Fridays. We are anticipating a big round of Funding and Grants this time with a lot of interest already expressed – please note that Funding will OPEN on the first day of teaching, and CLOSE end of Week 3 (PDAC: Professional Development and Academic Conferences) and Week 4 (Scholarships/bursaries) so hold your horses and get ready for those!

Remember it’s simple to redeem your GCAP membership, just come to our GCAP stall in O’week or club sign-on or any of our campus events to sign up for FREE. 2015 members will need to register with us again to get new shiny stickers which allow you entry into all events and services run on campus. Keep up to date with everything going on at Facebook/GCAPGriffith and www.gcap.org.au

I’ve lots more to share with you all, but better keep it short this time,

Let’s get 2016 GCAP’in!
